Hospital Safety Culture

Weaverville, CA – Trinity Hospital recently participated in a project which was designed to cultivate a strong hospital safety culture.  Developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality this project was specific to Critical Access Hospitals.  California’s Quality Improvement Organization, Lumetra, provided technical assistance to analyze the two questionnaires that were completed by our employees.  The goal of the project was to enhance our present policies relative to patient safety and assist us in developing new methods of delivering a strong hospital safety culture.  Our scores were representative of a quality safety culture and Trinity Hospital was asked by Lumetra to share our policies with other Critical Access Hospitals in California.

Out of this project we have participated in educational programs, networked with other Critical Access Hospitals, and implemented interventions based on scientific evidence designed to enhance the strong safety culture at Trinity Hospital.
